KASPAR ASTRUP SCHRÖDER was born in Denmark in 1979. Schröder is a filmmaker, visual artist, designer and producer of documentaries, feature and short films.
He made his first feature-length documentary with THE INVENTION OF DR. NAKAMATS (2009), a portrait of a Japanese inventor and eccentric. RENT A FAMILY INC. (2012) also focuses on a Japanese phenomenon, the rental of surrogate families for special family and corporate events.
Other films by Schröder include BIG TIME (2017), a portrait of internationally renowned architect Bjarne Ingles, and WAITING FOR THE SUN (2017), a moving film about life in a Chinese orphanage.
