DON’T GIVE A FOX

Female skateboarding is a growing trend across the globe. In the outskirts of Copenhagen, the girl skate crew Don’t Give A Fox is skating their way through life. The crew is a diverse group of girls that all have a passion for life, parties and skateboarding.

They party hard and enjoy hanging out with each other as an escape from the everyday challenges they face. But when Sofie breaks her foot and is not able to skate for many months, she arranges to go on a road trip across the country to learn more about the dreams and histories of the girls.

Much is at stake, and the journey poses a challenge of finding out where they come from and who it is they really want to become.

KASPAR ASTRUP SCHRÖDER was born in Denmark in 1979. Schröder is a filmmaker, visual artist, designer and producer of documentaries, feature and short films.

He made his first feature-length documentary with THE INVENTION OF DR. NAKAMATS (2009), a portrait of a Japanese inventor and eccentric. RENT A FAMILY INC. (2012) also focuses on a Japanese phenomenon, the rental of surrogate families for special family and corporate events.

Other films by Schröder include BIG TIME (2017), a portrait of internationally renowned architect Bjarne Ingles, and WAITING FOR THE SUN (2017), a moving film about life in a Chinese orphanage.
